The Department of Cardiology at MOSC Medical college Hospital was established as an independent unit in April 1995. Along Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery unit and the department of Cardiac Anaesthesia, the Kolenchery Heart Institute (KHI) was formed in November 2012.Ourinstitute is one among the best tertiary care centres offering state of the art treatment at affordable cost to all cardiac patients in this part of the state .

Our Institute is a one-stop destination for comprehensive cardiac care. A team of 4 cardiologists, two cardiovascular surgeons and a cardiac anaesthetist along with well trained nurses and technicians is available 24x7 to treat heart attacks effectively and in a timely fashion. All types of interventional cardiac procedures including complex coronary angioplasties and stenting, pacemaker services, nonsurgical closure of congenital heart defect like ASD and PDA, balloon mitral, aortic and pulmonary valvuloplasties, TAVR (Transcatheter aortic valve replacement), nonsurgical management of abdominal ( EVAR) and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair(EVAR) and varicose veins are done in the department.. We also offer an alternative treatment for end-stage heart failure patients with procedures like Pacemaker, AICD and CRT.  The cardiology dept is ably supported by a highly competent CVTS department.
